It’s been a roller-coaster of a term for Ruth and Tyler who have been flying the flag for Wales at the World Winter Special Olympic Games in Schladming.
They have returned with an astonishing two Golds, one Bronze and a fifth place.
Tyler won gold in both the Slalom and Giant Slalom, Ruth got bronze in Slalom and was 5th in Giant Slalom.
The girls who started their skiing with Ysgol Heol Goffa have surpassed all expectations and have done Heol Goffa, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales and Great Britain proud, so much so that they received a huge welcome on their return. They have also been invited to Downing Street, Buckingham Palace
and The National Assembly.
Being announced as Olympians is a fantastic achievement for the both the twins. They are the only Welsh competitors from 3,500 representing 110 countries from around the world.
They are also on the front page of the Llanelli Star, with a full article inside the newspaper. Thank you to photographer Byron Williams (byronwilliams.co.uk) of the Star
for some of the photographs kindly supplied.
