Touch Trust is a registered charity based in Cardiff, at the iconic Wales Millennium Centre. They provide unique creative movement programmes for individuals with learning disabilities, those affected by autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), complex needs, behaviour which challenges, and other vulnerable groups in the community. We as a school have arranged for touch trust to come to school and deliver sessions to our pupil’s .This has been part funded by ACGC (Arts Care Gofal Celf).
The session consists of different sections. During each section the pupils are encouraged to experience and participate in various activities e.g. light massage, playing musical instruments, dancing, exploring various unusual materials followed by relaxation at the end. During the session pupils are given lots of praise for any type of contribution may it be big or small. Watching and appreciating what their peers are doing is also an important part of the session.
