Annwyl Riant,

Byddwch wedi gweld ar y newyddion bod Kirsty Williams, y Gweinidog Addysg, wedi cyhoeddi y bydd plant yng Nghymru yn cael y cyfle i 'Ddod i'r Ysgol, Dali ati i Ddysgu, Paratoi ar gyfer yr Haf a mis Medi' o 29 Mehefin fel rhan o'r cam nesaf i ysgolion mewn ymateb i bandemig y coronafeirws.

Rydym yn deall bod y cyfnod hwn yn un cythryblus, ond gallwn eich sicrhau ein bod wedi bod yn gweithio'n galed i roi cynlluniau ar waith ar gyfer ein hysgolion er mwyn galluogi mwy o blant i fynychu pan fo'r amser yn iawn i wneud hynny.

Y brif ystyriaeth yw cadw pawb ‐ yn blant ac yn staff ysgol ‐ mor ddiogel â phosibl.

Rydym yn creu cynllun gweithredu manwl a byddwn yn rhannu rhagor o wybodaeth â chi cyn gynted â phosibl. Mae'r rhagofalon y byddwn yn eu cymryd yn cynnwys:

• Cyfyngu ar faint y dosbarthiadau

• Amseroedd gwahanol o ran egwyl a chasglu a gollwng

• Mwy o lanhau

Os yw eich plentyn yn cael ei warchod â risg uchel, neu'n byw gyda rhywun sydd yn y grŵp hwn, ni ddylai ddod yn ôl i'r ysgol y tymor hwn a dylai barhau i ddysgu gartref.

Rwyf hefyd am eich sicrhau, os byddwch yn dewis peidio ag anfon eich plant yn ôl i'r ysgol y tymor hwn ni fyddwch yn cael dirwy.

Byddwn yn rhoi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i chi am ein holl baratoadau ar gyfer ein hysgolion a'r mesurau sy'n cael eu rhoi ar waith i ganiatáu i ni wneud hyn. Gofynnwn i chi fod yn amyneddgar gan y gallai gymryd peth amser i roi'r holl drefniadau hyn ar waith.

Yn y cyfamser, mae ein canolfannau gofal plant yn dal ar agor i blant gweithwyr critigol a phlant sy'n agored i niwed; ac mae ysgolion yn parhau i gefnogi eich plant gyda'u dysgu gartref. Os oes arnoch angen unrhyw gymorth ychwanegol, mae croeso i chi gysylltu â'ch athro/athrawes.

Unwaith eto, diolch i chi am eich cefnogaeth a'ch cydweithrediad parhaus, byddwn yn rhoi diweddariad i chi cyn gynted ag y gallwn.

Yn gywir,

Gareth Morgans

Dear parent,

You will have seen in the news that Education Minister Kirsty Williams has announced that children in Wales will have the opportunity to ‘Check in, Catch Up, Prepare for summer and September’ from June 29 as part of the next phase for schools in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

We understand it is a very unsettling time, but please be assured that we have been working hard to put plans in place for increasing the operation of our schools to enable more children to attend when the time is right to do so.

Risk assessments are being carried out at all of our schools across the county. Each school is being individually assessed on its own situation, and it may very well be the case that ‘a one size fits all’ approach will not work. This means that some schools may not be able to offer the same level of provision, dependent on building space and staffing capacity. The main consideration is to keep everyone ‐ children and school staff ‐ as safe as possible.

We are creating a detailed action plan and we will be sharing more information with you as soon as possible. Precautions we will be taking include:

• Limiting class sizes

• Staggering break times, and pick‐up and drop‐off times

• Increased cleaning

If your child is shielding or at more risk, or living with someone who is in this group, they should not come back to school this term and should continue home learning.

I also want to reassure you that if you choose not to send your children back to school this term you will not be fined.

We will keep you updated with all our preparations for our schools and the measures that are being put in place to allow us to do this. Please bear with us as it may take some time to put all these arrangements in place.

In the meantime, our childcare hubs remain open for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children; and schools are continuing to support your children with their home learning. If you need any additional support at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your teacher.

Again, I would like to thank you for your continued support and co‐operation, we will be providing you with an update as soon as we can.

Yours sincerely,

Gareth Morgans
